Peter James Golf Classic Raises £13,000 for Charity

The annual Peter James Classic golf tournament raised an amazing £13,000 for Action Medical Research even though no one won the prize!

The task was to hit a hole-in-one on the 17th hole at the event held at Haywards Heath Golf Club.  The event raised £8,800 the previous year for the charity that funds research to improve the health of babies and children.  The charity is over 60 years old and is leader in breakthroughs for vaccines such as polio.

Many local businesses sponsored the event and there were many prizes such as who could get “nearest the pin”, “longest drive” and “nearest the hole in two”.

Not only did the golf tournament raise money but a local author Peter James offered the opportunity for a local business to feature in his next Detective Inspector Grace novel.

Dinnages, Renalut dealer contributed the Prize which was a Megane with help from Tozer Insurance and this was for anyone who could hit a hole-in-one on the 17th hole.

The dealer principal at Dinnages, Tom Simpson stated: “We were thrilled to be involved in this event with this prestigious local charity.  Though no one won the prize…”

Sounds like the event was a great success, I like to show support for businesses like this and as I’m looking for a new Renault car I will visit Dinnages, Renault dealer in Brighton and look at their used RenaultClio Brighton.

Vauxhall’s Online Calculator for Fleet Costs

Vauxhall have come up with a clever online tool, it calculates the whole life costs of fleet vehicles or individual cars for fleet car drivers or company car drivers.

This calculator is available on the Vauxhall Fleet website at www.vauxhall.co.uk/fleet, it enable the driver to select the fleet cars they wish to drive then works out the life costs.  This enables the driver to choose which model to take as it gives them an insight into the financial costs including manufacturer data.

The whole life costs included will be tax, and residual values, so the normal complicated process should be a lot easier and lead to better decisions, the calculator can also be used for company car drivers as it will inform them of running costs, tax and technical information.

This sounds like a good idea especially in the current financial climate, everyone needs to cut the costs and this is a great way for businesses to cut down on unnecessary spending, as well as making sure they use the right car for their business.

I have heard that Baylis have great offers on their new and used cars, if you use the online calculator visit Baylis to pick up a deal so if you’re looking for a used Vauxhall Zafira in Stroud, a used Vauxhall Zafirain Cirencester or a used Zafira Worcester head to Baylis.

The right time to get advice from Divorce solicitors

Thinking about a divorce is the right time to consult specialist divorce solicitors, to receive straightforward legal advice. While the nature of divorce is difficult and sensitive, the intricacies of the courts require legal expertise to guide and help you achieve the best possible solution. Confidential and sympathetic divorce solicitors in Kent offer simple and affordable solutions to legal problems – without making it a long and expensive process.

With children involved, divorce solicitors are able to help you reach the most beneficial conclusion to access and contact issues. Agreeing this in advance with your partner will avoid having to attend family court - if no resolution is reached, it is a necessity. Cohabiting couples and gay and lesbian couples are also represented by divorce solicitors in Kent, .who help clients find the best options for a final separation.

For those seeking a legal separation rather than a divorce can use divorce solicitors to navigate costs and issues involved. Equally, they can help you decide whether a separation or divorce is the right route for you and your partner by weighing up the options available. If there are no children involved, it is possible to end a marriage without either partner having to attend court in England.

If a husband or wife is suspected of, or guilty of, adultery divorce solicitors may look at this as grounds for unreasonable behaviour – especially if there is proof to the allegation. Unreasonable behaviour covers a wide range of things, like diminished mental, emotional or financial support: Even if an affair is denied, this can still count as unreasonable behaviour in the divorce courts.

With the divorce process so expensive, using divorce solicitors can help to shorten the process wherever possible – visit Gullands divorce solicitors Kent to reach the best possible solution for everybody involved.

Vauxhall Corsa

I am currently looking for a new car, brand new or used- I really don’t mind.  I have been looking online and Vauxhall have some great offers on all their new cars such as a Lifetime Warranty and 0% on finance, so I’m swaying towards the new Corsa.

The 3 door hatchback looks extremely stylish definitely an improvement from the old model as it is embracing the modern look.  There is a choice of 3 petrol engines and four diesels, reading reviews I have been informed that the 1.4 petrol is the best as the 1.0 and 1.2 are not best for motorway driving, and I commute to work on the motorway.

The Corsa also has security and safety options such as airbags and anti-skid control as an option, it has features which help you avoid accidents and warns you if an accident is about to happen, which is perfect for me constantly on the motorway.

I would have to opt for the finance, it’s very flexible by letting you choose your deposit then you choose your payment term which can be from 24 to 60 months and the best bit is they will give you £750 towards the deposit not mentioning the 0% APR representation!  This is in addition to a Lifetime warranty for 100,000 miles.

I think my decision has been made, the next step is finding the right Vauxhall dealer.  I live in Gloucester and have been told Baylis are the place to go; they are reputable Vauxhall dealers who have a selection of new and used vehicles including a usedVauxhall Corsa Gloucester.  They also have a number of showrooms in the UK so you can buy a used Vauxhall Corsa inStroud and a used Vauxhall Corsa in Ross-on-wye.

Social Media Conference

It’s coming up for the Motor Trader Conference for Social Media on 2nd November, dealers are already signing up so definitely a good sign. The conference will be held in the North for a change, in Cheshire.

The conference is very useful for car dealers as over 80 per cent of the Motor Trader Top 200 dealers use automotive social media such as Facebook, twitter and LinkedIn.  They use these social media sites as they help them engage with their customers, increase traffic going to their website and promote their business.  So many people now use social media sites, especially the younger generations and so it seems crazy not to target them through these outlets.

The event is presented by TV presenter and rally driver Penny Mallory, and is aimed at senior dealer management as it will show the best techniques on how to use social media and search marketing.  There will be a number of speakers from various marketing and automotive companies; these include Google, GForces, IMRG, Marshall Motor Group and Ford Retail Group.

That sounds like a great line up of speakers who specialise in social media and the automotive industry; GForces are an automotive web management company that ensures your website and online strategy never stops and remains at the top.  They use the latest techniques and technologies to keep you ahead of the competition.   They will have good advice when it comes to social media as this is one of the many online platforms they use to drive traffic to your website.

Vauxhall Astra GTC unveiled

Vauxhall have unveiled a sporty Astra GTC with a 2.0 CDTi diesel engine at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The 3 door GTC is based on the concept car shown at the Paris show last year. I don’t know about anyone else but I have been excited about this car ever since I saw it last year, so I can’t wait for it to be released in the UK in November.

Vauxhall have also announced that they will be introducing a second diesel engine to the range, a 1.7 CDTi unit and will be available in 108bhp or 128bhp. Both 1.7 and 2.0 engines will be the most economical and available from the beginning of 2012, more economical Ecoflex models will follow later in the year.

The Astra GTC is one of 3 models in the range, other models include the hatchback and estate, however, the only same exterior parts are the door handles and aerial. The front suspension is the same as the Insignia VXR, prices for the Vauxhall Astra GTC start at £18,495 going up to £22,430.

If you’re like me and can’t wait for next year to buy one of these, then I have been recommended by my sister to get a used Vauxhall Astra Hereford from Baylis.  They are an approved new and used Vauxhall dealer; they also service customers looking for a used Vauxhall Astra in Stroud and used Vauxhall Astra ross-on-wye.

2011 What Car? Awards

From a very young age I have had interest in cars, as I was growing up I would buy a toy car almost every week. For all my birthdays and Christmas present it was usually a remote controlled car and it always made me smile.  After I got married my wife wasn’t very happy with my passion for cars, as I would drag her to every car show and events with me.

The most recent event we went o was the What Car? Awards, which I really enjoyed but my wife didn’t at all. So she made me promise not to take her to any other car show events or anything related to cars.

This year’s What Car? was really good, I was surprised with some of the results, but the one that didn’t surprise me was when that announced  the Vauxhall Ampera has the Green Car of the Year 2011. The Vauxhall Ampera is a very good and nice car, I want to buy it for myself and get rid of my used Vauxhall Lisburn but my wife doesn’t like it.

After they announced the result, What Car? editor-in-chief Chas Hallett said: "The Vauxhall Ampera represents a massive step for alternative-fuel cars. It offers all the benefits of owning an electric vehicle with virtually none of the drawbacks. It gives motorists the ability to dramatically reduce their emissions without changing their lifestyle, which is exactly what green cars need to do."

I made sure my wife heard what was being said, so I can get the car but as she had no interest, she wasn’t even paying me any attention.
