Trading-in a Mercedes M Class

Most dealers will accept a Mercedes M class as a trade in on certain conditions. The car should be well maintained, clean and operational before taking the car into a dealership. The dealer will inspect the Mercedes M class before accepting the car as a trade in. Dealership approval processes will vary and so will their inspection process.

The Mercedes M class may need servicing and maintenance before acceptance. The trade in value is affected by the condition of the internal and external appearance of the car, age, mileage and history. If you can provide documents proving the historic maintenance and care of the M class, the value may increase. The age of the car will plays a role in figuring out the bargaining price, some older models are worth more.

The external appearance, such as tires and bodywork can damper the value. Blotches, damage or rust has to be dealt with before selling. The internal appearance, the car seats and floorboards may require cleaning or repairs and can harm your asking price. Not unless the car is in mint condition and the paper work proves of the upkeep. This does not mean that the engine needs to be spit shined but it should be running and have a recent oil change. The hoses should be nearly new without rags on them.

Some dealers may accept the car “as is” and they will handle all the repairs without costing you a dime. Each dealer has different policies and a few quick calls can help narrow down your chose of dealers.
