From a very young age I have had interest in cars, as I was
growing up I would buy a toy car almost every week. For all my birthdays and
Christmas present it was usually a remote controlled car and it always made me
smile. After I got married my wife
wasn’t very happy with my passion for cars, as I would drag her to every car
show and events with me.
The most recent event
we went o was the What Car? Awards, which I really enjoyed but my wife didn’t
at all. So she made me promise not to take her to any other car show events or
anything related to cars.
This year’s What Car? was really good, I was surprised with
some of the results, but the one that didn’t surprise me was when that
announced the Vauxhall Ampera has the
Green Car of the Year 2011. The Vauxhall Ampera is a very good and nice car, I
want to buy it for myself and get rid of my used Vauxhall Lisburn but my wife doesn’t like it.
After they announced the result, What Car? editor-in-chief
Chas Hallett said: "The Vauxhall Ampera represents a massive step for
alternative-fuel cars. It offers all the benefits of owning an electric vehicle
with virtually none of the drawbacks. It gives motorists the ability to dramatically
reduce their emissions without changing their lifestyle, which is exactly what
green cars need to do."
I made sure my wife heard what was being said, so I can get
the car but as she had no interest, she wasn’t even paying me any attention.
